Our dedicated engineering team support and deliver solutions to the client as well as train clients employee's on a range of rotating equipment needs.

Training

Whilst hardware issues are fundamental to the effective operation of a facility, Weir Services also recognises that people are also key to the successful operation of plant.

Weir Power and Industrial operate a Customer Training Department, who are leading providers of Rotating Equipment Technology, Operation and Maintenance Training. Here, theory translates into practice; teaching skills which will improve reliability and availability and reduce operating costs.

Lecturers are experienced industry experts, both chartered engineers and workshop professionals.

The training courses can be held at the clients premises or in our custom built training centre equipped with modern air-conditioned lecture rooms and adjoining workshops.

The objectives of the courses are to enable Engineers and Operators to;

  • Understand the practical and theoretical principles of Rotating Equipment Design, selection, construction, operation and maintenance.
  • Achieve “Know How – Know Why” understanding of rotating plant
  • Access a training course with a track record of experience in rotating equipment manufacture.
  • Location; client’s facility or custom Training Centre.

Benefits of the Courses;

  • Learn about the theory of rotating equipment design and application and the interaction of rotating equipment and system.
    Topics include single and multiple operation, system characteristics, suction conditions, cavitation and more.
  • Improve your ability to prepare specifications and performance criteria for the effective procurement of rotating plant and related equipment.
  • Study operational problems with case studies which will enable you to identify appropriate solutions.
    Understand basic maintenance principles of specific rotating equipment types and recognize key factors affecting reliability and availability.
  • Examine equipment deterioration and cost-effective corrective measures.
  • Review the latest materials and surface treatments to extend operating life.
  • Consider the efficiency of the rotating plant in the system and discuss optimisation of performance, energy efficiency testing and power saving options.
