TRICENTRIC supply upgrade project
A major power order has been won by Weir
Valves & Controls USA, part of the Power & Industrial
Division, for air and manually operated TRICENTRIC
â
Class 150 metal seated butterfly valves, to be used as service
water cross-connect and header isolations at Millstone Unit 2
station, Connecticut.
The order has been part of a multi-year design
and implementation project to replace soft-seated butterfly valves
with a history of seat leakage and corrosion problems. The
TRICENTRICâ triple offset valves exhibits corrosion and
erosion resistance and the combination of advanced material with
rugged Tricentricâ Valve design provides the customer
with a virtually maintenance free, leaktight valve for aggressive
service water and circulating water applications. The
TRICENTRICâvalve design has had great success at many
nuclear facilities in the United States and Asia.
