Excellent results pay off for Weir Specialty Pumps

Weir Specialty Pumps was recently approached by a customer to investigate clogging on a typical non-clog pump installed on a main influent pump station.

The primary job of the non-clog pump was to handle the station inflow during periods of low flow, however the pumps inherent design restricted its performance.  Weir Speciality Pumps recommended its WEMCO-Hidrostal screw-centrifugal solids-handling pump for this difficult application as it could handle the jockey pump duty if run on a regular basis.

Weir also advised the customer that the pump station should be cleaned before starting up the new pump, and, although this was not undertaken, the pump performed exceptionally well.

The success of the WEMCO-Hidrostal pump puts Weir in an excellent position for other multiple-pump pump station installations.
