Reverse engineering involves producing
3-D images of manufactured parts when a blueprint is not
available in order to remanufacture the part. To reverse engineer a
part, the part is measured by a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
As it is measured, a 3-D wire frame image is generated and
displayed on a monitor. After the measuring is complete, the wire
frame image is dimensioned. Any part can be reverse engineered
using these methods.
A fundamentally important aspect of our
customer service is the ability to verify the sustainabilityof a
component for purpose.

Weir precision measurement
technology:
۰ Alignments
۰ Levelling
۰ Bore verification
۰ Flatness
۰ Parallelism
۰ Surface deformation
Advanced parts manufacture
"re-engineering"
۰ Re-winding the process flow involved in originally creating an
item.
۰ It includes determining how and why a product works
۰ The "design intent" usually achieved by comparison to proven OEM
hydraulic/mechanical design practices and standards
۰ Understanding the design intent is the essential first step in
any process that aims to improved or upgrade the performance of the
original part
۰ Engineering for advanced parts manufacture - application
۰ Applies equally to cast and wrought parts, where the
original design intent may be masked by wear and corrosion -
crucial if the machine and or system behaviour or performance needs
to be modified/improved in some way
۰ Hydraulic components require confirmation of key features
Also applicable to
older equipment, which could benefit from current
advances in technology.
