Weir Power &
Industrial have developed an innovative repair to provide
in-situ replacement of parallel slide valve seats. It is not
uncommon to find that valve seats have been damaged or lapped
beyond acceptable limits, which can result in valve leakage
issues.
Normally this condition requires cutting out
of the valve for offsite workshop replacement of the seats, along
with associated additional costs in restraint of the valve pipework
and re-weld of the valve.
Specialist milling and welding equipment is
used to perform in-situ removal of the damaged seats and
installation of the replacement new seats, thereby providing a less
time consuming, more flexible and cost-effective repair
solution.
