Life cycle asset management
We define asset management as "The systematic
planning and control of a physical resource throughout its entire
life in order to maximise its financial return."
Weir’s service offering typically embraces the
operation, maintenance and modification of the wind assets during
their operational life. Provision of our life cycle asset
management role involves Weir in assuming overall responsibility
for the equipment, including control of condition and performance
monitoring; inventory; planned maintenance routines; all
scheduling; servicing, upgrades and improvements.
Routine performance monitoring over time
builds up a body of evidence to characterise past performance and
predict future performance.
Wear and tear on components can be determined,
informing spares purchase, and revenue-affecting issues can be
identified and removed.
