Weir Allen Steam Turbines double order
Weir Power & Industrial company, Allen
Steam Turbines, have secured an order from Illovo Sugar in South
Africa for the engineering, manufacture, supply and installation of
a new steam turbine for their Big Bend facility. The turbine
will be utilised as a mill drive on a new cane shredder and is one
of a series of Weir Allen machines purchased by the customer.
Weir were selected as the preferred supplier
as a result of the exemplary level of technical and service support
provided over the last 20 years. The machine is due to be delivered
to the site in Swaziland by the end of November 2009 and will be
operational early in 2010.
Weir Allen Steam Turbines have also secured a
significant spares order from Shell UK Oil Products Limited for
their Stanlow Refinery for a turbine overhaul scheduled later in
2009.
