Weir Power & Industrial continues to lead the way

The Weir Power & Industrial team has further strengthened its position in the Chinese market by recently securing a number of new contracts from customers across the territory.

The Chinese operation worked closely with the manufacturing and engineering facilities in the UK and US to secure the new orders to supply valves to various nuclear power plants, petrochemical plants and fossil-fired plants in China, including the Hongyanhe, Ningde and Haiyang power projects.

The contract wins will see Weir Power & Industrial companies across the group supply a range of valves for the projects, including Batley Butterfly Valves, Hopkinsons Pneumatic Operated Isolation Valves, and Blakeborough Control Valves from our facilities in Elland in the UK, and Atwood & Morrill Check Valves will be supplied from our Massachusetts facility in the USA for feedwater pump packages and turbine applications.

Weir Power & Industrial now offers its customers a complete sales, manufacturing and after sales support solution from within China, which has enabled them to provide customers such as China Nuclear Power Engineering Company (CNPEC) and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC) with a complete end-to-end solution. As a result, Weir Power & Industrial is establishing a real competitive edge for its products and solutions in the Chinese power generation industry.

Paul Jin, Sales and Marketing Manager, for the Emerging Markets team, based in Beiijing said, “We are delighted with our continued success in the Chinese market and our Chinese operation. Being based in the territory has allowed us to offer a full solution to our customers, which is clearly resulting in increased sales of our products.”

Weir Power & Industrial’s Chinese operation continues to work on a number of other exciting opportunities in the region, as it aims to further expand its customer base and build on the recent successes it has achieved.
